The Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Earth Sciences is dedicated to expanding the horizons and capabilities of our students, with offerings at both the BS and BA levels.  Whether it is through direct coursework in the field or our exceptional research opportunities, students have the opportunity for development not often found in traditional programs.

Undergraduate Research Opportunities.

Students who wish to participate in cutting-edge Climate Dynamics research should contact Dr. Barry Klinger. Summer internships as well as research credit during the semester are available. It is preferred that students who participate in research have at least a 3.0 GPA, some experience with a computer language such as Fortran, C++, or Matlab, and at least a semester of calculus.

Exciting research opportunities are also available in Vertebrate Paleontology. Interested students should contact Dr. Mark D. Uhen. Students who participate should have completed both Introductory Geology (GEOL 102) and Invertebrate Paleontology (GEOL 312) or Vertebrate Paleontology (GEOL 334).
